About to pay for an AI media tool? Check the cheaper ways first.
Name the tool you are about to subscribe to. Before You Pay looks in the same category of the Smart Media Tools dataset and shows up to three tools with a lower recorded price, the monthly saving on each, and what you give up for it. No invented prices, no invented features.
How an alternative qualifies: its recorded monthly price is lower than the recorded monthly price of the tool you picked. If your pick has no recorded monthly price, the tool says so and shows what the data can compare instead, with no saving figures.
What are you about to pay for?
Start typing to find any of the 114 tools in the dataset. Then, if one thing matters most to you, say so and the alternatives are judged against it.
When the data cannot judge a candidate on that point, the candidate stays in the list and is flagged "not recorded" on that point. It is never silently dropped or silently passed.
Two free comparisons per day on this connection; after that, an email unlocks unlimited comparisons for the rest of the day.
How to read the trade-offs
Recorded prices only
A saving appears only when both tools have a recorded monthly price. One-time prices are labeled and never turned into a monthly saving.
Editorial ratings
Quality and speed scores are the dataset's editorial ratings on a 1 to 5 scale, synthesized from reviews. They support comparison; they are not lab measurements.
Free tier means a free tier
A tool counts as having a free tier when the dataset records a standing free plan or tier. A free trial or a demo does not count.
Prices and ratings are as recorded in the Smart Media Tools dataset, last verified 2026-09-13. Tools change pricing often, so check the vendor page before paying.
